This may seem kind of obvious to most, but one of the best deals on Amazon is the Amazon Prime membership. A standard annual Amazon Prime membership costs $119 per year, or $12.99 if paid month-to-month. There are tons of benefits, but the number one benefit is FREE two day shipping. Amazon offers FREE one-day shipping for Prime members on thousands of items and even SAME DAY SHIPPING if you are one of the lucky customers who live near an Amazon warehouse. There are tons of other benefits to being a Prime member, such as Amazon Prime video, Amazon music, and so much more.
Amazon is inundated with fake reviews. Sellers have gotten creative and found numerous ways to flood their product page with 5-star reviews. From sending products for free in exchange for positive reviews, asking friends and family to review their product, or using bots to post fake reviews, the reality is that you can’t trust reviews at face value.
” Paid or fake reviews rampant on Amazon. According to an analysis by the Washington Post, a majority of reviews in certain Amazon product categories are fraudulent or paid. “MarketingLand.com
There is an easy solution to this problem. I utilize Fakespot to determine if reviews are authentic. All you have to do is copy the Amazon link of the product that you are interested in, then paste it into the search bar at Fakespot. It will analyze all of the reviews and give you a grade for both the product and the seller.
How do I use this information? If the product receives less than a B rating, I do not consider the product. There are so many different product choices on Amazon. So, if a seller isn’t being transparent and authentic with their reviews, I shop elsewhere. It’s as simple as that.
There are numerous websites that will tell you how to get the best deals on Amazon. But, I like the live updates provided by CamelCamelCamel. They are a free Amazon price tracker that monitors millions of products and alerts you when prices drop, helping you decide when to buy. You can also use this feature for the next tip, which is getting a refund when the price drops.
Get a Refund if the Price Drops
If you purchase an item on Amazon and the price drops within 30 days, they will issue you a refund for the difference. Amazon customer service is amazing. They basically get paid to make sure you have a positive shopping experience. This is an easy process and will require no haggling or arguing for your refund. Just call them and request your refund for the difference. Done.
What if Your Amazon Prime 2-Day Delivery is Late?
Remember just a second ago when I told you about Amazon’s amazing customer service? Yeah you do. So, if you don’t receive a 2-day Prime delivery within the promised time frame, just call Amazon and complain. They will give you a free month of Amazon Prime by extending your membership a month.
Save 15% By Subscribing
Do you find yourself buying certain items from Amazon fairly regularly? You can save up to 15% by subscribing to regular shipments of that item.
How does it work?
Set up regularly scheduled deliveries and earn savings with Subscribe & Save. Unlock extra savings on eligible subscriptions when you receive five or more products in one auto-delivery to one address. From diapers to toothpaste to dog treats, you can subscribe to thousands of everyday products.
How do I start a subscription?
- Select “Subscribe and Save” on the detail page for thousands of eligible products.
- Select the quantity and schedule that works for you.
- Skip your deliveries or cancel your subscriptions at any time by visiting Manage Your Subscriptions.
- In advance of each delivery, Amazon will send you a reminder email showing the item price and any applicable discount for your upcoming delivery. The price of the item may decrease or increase from delivery to delivery, depending on the Amazon.com price of the item at the time they process your order.
How do I save up to 15% on Auto Deliveries?
Save up to 15% off when receiving five or more products in one auto-delivery to one address. Prime members unlock 20% savings on subscriptions to diapers, baby food and more when receiving five or more products in one auto-delivery to one address, compliments of Amazon Family.
Third-Party Sellers May Save You More Money
There are sometimes hundreds of sellers on Amazon selling the exact same product. Amazon will default your search to their preferred seller (most of the time that’s them). Instead, you can find a cheaper price from a different seller by doing the following:
- On Amazon’s desktop site, below the add to cart button and share icons, you can find the box, “Other Sellers on Amazon.” Within this box you can find other third party sellers selling this item, some of which may be less expensive than the default search displayed.
- From the mobile app, scroll down and select “New & Used from…” where you can find the many more third party sellers. There may be sellers selling your item for a cheaper price than the default search price displayed.
