Welcome to my blog, and more specifically to DAY 18 of my 30-day weight loss challenge. If you are checking back to see how to progress is going, welcome back. If you are here for the first time, be sure to check out where it all started on DAY ONE, as well as each of the individual 30 daily posts, documenting each day of the 30-day challenge, which you can find a link to at the end of this article.
Next Weigh-In: Tomorrow, DAY 19
I really want to shave my beard. That’s the most impactful thing I have to say about today’s progress picture. If I decide to shave, will anyone doubt the legitimacy of the 30-day weight loss challenge? It isn’t a 30-day facial hair growing challenge, right?
Since I will not be weighing myself until mid-next week, I will have to focus on other things. How do I feel? How do I look in the daily progress pics? How are my clothes fitting?
The one thing that I need to regularly tell myself is that the number on the scale isn’t actually that significant. I mean, of course for this challenge it is super significant. But, for life, it really doesn’t matter if I am eating healthy, nutritious foods and if I am being active. The other variables that I mentioned above will show me if I am being successful.
P.S. I feel great. I look great. My clothes are fitting looser than ever. Now, let’s talk about some nutrition and exercise, shall we?
Day 18 Nutrition
None (intermittent fasting until 1pm)
None (intermittent fasting until 1pm)

1 Egg. 1 cup Egg Whites. Onion. Green Pepper. Tomato. Mozzarella Cheese. Hot Sauce.
Day 18 Exercise
Where: Outdoor Run
Duration: 1 hour + 30 Minutes
This morning I had a great longer than normal jog. I completed 7.2 miles in just under an hour and a half. I burned 836 active calories and had an average heart rate of 139BPM. The pace was a slower jog at 12:17/mi. but I did walk the last half mile as a cool down so that inflated the overall number a bit. I think my average split was approximately 11:40/mi.
Where: Home Yoga Session
Duration: 30 Minutes
Equipment: Yoga Mat + Down Dog App
The Down Dog App lets you customize your yoga workout based on a variety of factors. For this particular session, I focused on stretching and flexibility, with no standing poses. It was more restorative. I really needed it with all of the intense exercise that I have been doing.
Where: Outdoor Walk
Duration: 30 minutes
It was great to exceed my exercise goal for today. I completed my two hours of exercise before noon and was able to enjoy some activity in the late afternoon/early evening with a short walk. Today was solid as hell.
I couldn’t have imagined having a better day than today. I was able to celebrate my birthday yesterday with cake, and I recovered so well that I kicked my ass with the physical activity today. I ate tremendously well today as well. I am actually thinking about making some of these honey lime bounty bowls for lunch tomorrow. I need to change it up a bit.
